About the event
March: Negotiation is a critical career skill that directly influences salary progression, role scope, and leadership opportunities. Yet substantial evidence shows that women are less likely to negotiate pay and promotions and, when they do, often face structural and social barriers that disadvantage them (Babcock and Laschever, 2003; Bowles, Babcock and Lai, 2007). These disparities contribute to persistent gender pay gaps and slower career advancement, particularly in competitive and male-dominated sectors.
This workshop is designed to equip women graduates with practical, evidence-based negotiation strategies to advocate effectively for themselves in salary discussions, promotions, and role negotiations. Moving beyond confidence alone, the session focuses on understanding negotiation dynamics, recognising power and bias, and applying structured techniques that enable women to negotiate assertively while maintaining professional credibility. Participants will leave with greater clarity, preparedness, and tools to negotiate outcomes that reflect their value and long-term career goals.
